FISIP Talent Project

Promoting Italian excellence and celebrating talent

About the project

In the TALENTI FISIP Project, particularly promising young talents do their physical and technical preparation in the disciplines of alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and snowboarding, made possible by financial support from Diasorin.

Between 2016 and 2021, the Group asked the Italian Federation of Paralympic Winter Sports (FISIP), based on criteria of talent and excellence, to select a list of athletes from the members of the Italian team at the XII Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

In light of the major results achieved by the athletes, and to confirm the social value of the collaboration, Diasorin and FISIP renewed their partnership at the Beijing 2022 Games and will do so again at the highly anticipated Milan–Cortina 2026 Olympics.

Financial support

The aim of the project is to promote local excellence and celebrate talent in all its forms. In 2016-2018, Diasorin asked the Italian Paralympic Winter Sports Federation to select talented athletes to represent Italy at the 12th Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, held from March 9 to 18, 2018 at the same venue as the 12th Winter Olympics. The Italian athletes achieved significant results: the Italian national team won the giant slalom and slalom (2 golds), snowboard cross and super G (2 silvers) and downhill (1 bronze). A great success compared to a previous edition at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, where Italian athletes won no medals. Diasorin therefore decided to support this project again in the four years from 2019 to 2022, together with the talented athletes selected and trained by the Italian Paralympic Winter Sports Federation to represent Italy at the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing. In 2020, despite the pandemic, FISIP continued to train in compliance with the regulations intended to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, without being able to take part in national or international competitions.

The Italian Paralympic Winter Sports Federation is also looking ahead to the future, and in particular to a new sport, parabob. The Italian Paralympic Winter Sports Federation was one of the first in the world to join in with this new project and hopes to see Italian athletes on the slopes as early as Beijing 2022, by which time this sport should be officially included in the Paralympic program.

The strength of the Italian Paralympic Winter Sports Federation lies in its athletes and sports clubs, which are committed to recruiting new members and to promoting winter sports reserved for people with disabilities. Sports clubs wishing to join the Italian Paralympic Winter Sports Federation can find a list of the documentation required on our website.
