2023-2025 ESG Objectives

The identification of ESG material topics relevant to Diasorin is guiding the implementation and management of the 2023-2025 ESG plan, and will help the Group track progress in the field of three-factor sustainability over time.

Diasorin’s 2023-2025 ESG strategy involves top management in the creation of a Steering Committee, which will be directly responsible for approving the ESG objectives and for prioritizing relevant issues.

The Plan is aimed at coordinating and aligning the Group towards shared objectives to improve its social and environmental impact, and to formally commit to the principles of transparency and integrity.

Furthermore, in December 2023, the Group announced the setting of a CO2 reduction target, by transitioning to 100% renewable energies across all our industrial sites by 2027, covering 92% of our Scope 2 emissions.

Reduction of environmental impact and definition of a Group climate strategy

Diasorin is deeply dedicated to promoting initiatives that contribute to the challenge of climate change. This commitment is exemplified through our focus on transitioning towards renewable energy sources, a pivotal step in our strategy aimed at reducing carbon emissions from our operations. In alignment with this vision, the Group recently announced an ambitious target aimed at significantly cutting our carbon footprint. By 2027, we are committing to achieve a momentous milestone: the complete transition to 100% renewable energies across all our industrial sites.

In 2023, a project was launched to install photovoltaic panels at the Group's headquarters. Not only did this initiative yield immediate environmental benefits, resulting in a substantial reduction of over 500 tons of CO2 equivalent per year, but it also generated a commendable output of more than 1 GWh of clean solar energy annually. This endeavor stands as a testament to our dedication to sustainable practices and underscores our commitment to fostering a more sustainable future for generations to come.

Improvement in the Group’s energy efficiency

In 2023, Diasorin embarked on a multifaceted journey, engaging in a series of transformational projects aimed at strengthening energy efficiency in its European operations. Among these initiatives, the Group decided to replace conventional lighting systems with LED technology, and the implementation of automatic shutdown systems, strategically designed to reduce energy consumption during idle periods, thereby optimizing Diasorin’s energy efficiency in Europe.
The success of these efforts paved the way for their upcoming expansion on a global scale, underscoring Diasorin's ongoing commitment to promoting sustainability and driving innovation in all aspects of its operations.

Strengthening of the Group Management, Health, Safety and Environment System through international certifications ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

In 2023, Diasorin received the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 for the Environmental Management System and UNI EN ISO 45001:2018 for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System)certifications for the production plant located at the Group’s headquarters. Starting from 2024, the Group is committed to verify the possibility of extending this Group Management, Health, Safety and Environment System to its plants in the United States. Formalization of the principles of Group meritocracy that favor the promotion of talents without discrimination in terms of gender, status, race or religion

Implementation of a Group Engagement Survey

The Group’s ESG Plan provides for the definition of a template for an engagement survey, to be sent to all employees on a recurring basis from 2025 onwards. This initiative signifies the Group's commitment to fostering a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, where every employee's voice is valued and contributes to the collective pursuit of sustainability goals.

Allocation of up to €1.5 M to social sustainability projects

Diasorin has established a longstanding commitment to promoting initiatives aimed at fostering social sustainability. In 2020, Diasorin decided to found the Diasorin Foundation, a pivotal step in formalizing the Group's efforts to support value education in schools, providing €1 million per year to fund its work. Implementation of a Group Sustainability Policy

Since 2023, the Group has been implementing a Group sustainability policy in order to define at organizational level Diasorin’s priorities and areas of commitment in sustainability towards its internal and external stakeholders. Definition of ESG Governance

In early 2023, Diasorin took a step towards bolstering its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives by establishing a corporate ESG function and forming an ESG Steering Committee. This significant move underscores the Group's unwavering commitment to integrating ESG principles into its operations. Dissemination of the culture and understanding of sustainability and ESG issues to all Group employees

Diasorin has decided to promote the ESG program around the Group by encouraging all employees to further their understanding and to take a practical approach to sustainability issues. This includes dedicated internal meetings, a special segment during the annual company meeting, and comprehensive coverage of ESG and sustainability topics during the Investor Day held in December 2023.
