NxTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel
Help patients recover from gastrointestinal infections more quickly
NxTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP) is a highly scalable gastrointestinal test with customizable detection of bacterial, viral, and parasitic pathogens to rule out the causes of infectious diarrhea.
Disease state
Gastrointestinal infections lead to approximately 500,000 hospitalizations per year and 179 million outpatient visits annually in the U.S. It is the cause of more than 5,000 deaths per year and has become the leading cause of death in children under 5 years of age globally. Additionally, hospital outbreaks can lead to severe illness in at-risk populations and hospital ward closures. Diarrhea can also have a major impact on society by disrupting daily life activities and leading to a high economic burden.
Gastrointestinal infections are a serious medical condition that can cause illness or death
The value of NxTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP)
Empower clinicians to accurately diagnose gastrointestinal infections in order to optimize patient therapy
Proven clinical impact
Get fast, comprehensive results within 3 hours post-extraction. Detect and identify >90% of the causative agents of gastroenteritis.
Outstanding economic value
One test provides answers for 16 pathogens. Eliminate the hassle of managing multiple samples and testing methods.
Workflow benefits
Minimize labor, reduce expenses, and improve overall laboratory and hospital efficiency by reducing hands-on time and overall turnaround time.
How the NxTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP) Test Works
NxTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogen Panel (GPP) is a multiplexed nucleic acid test intended for the simultaneous qualitative detection and identification of multiple viral, parasitic, and bacterial nucleic acids in human stool specimens from individuals with signs and symptoms of infectious colitis or gastroenteritis.
High complexity workflow
Sample pre-treatment is needed, followed by nucleic acid extraction and purification, multiplex amplification, bead hybridization and detection, and data acquisition and analysis by MAGPIX® with xPONENT® and SYNCT™ software.
Time to results
In as little as three hours post extraction, laboratories can obtain results for >90% of pathogens in a quick, streamlined workflow that eliminates the complexity of managing multiple samples and test methods.
NxTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogens Panel (GPP) kit
The NxTAG® Gastrointestinal Pathogens Panel is a cost-effective, syndromic testing panel that eliminates the complexity of managing multiple samples and test methods while providing a streamlined workflow that delivers clinical, economic, and workflow benefits to hospitals and laboratories.
