The monitoring of vitamin D is helpful in diseases where calcium and phosphorus homeostasis or bone metabolism are altered. This includes rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, patients with bone fragility, chronic kidney diseases, malabsorption disorders, hepatic failure, and patients under granulomatosis diseases treatment.
