LIAISON® Mumps Diagnostic Solution

The LIAISON® Mumps assays panel (IgG, IgM) is a complete and automated solution to support clinicians for differential diagnosis of mumps virus infection, and assessment of immune protection.
LIAISON® Mumps IgG
LIAISON® Mumps IgG is a CLIA assay for the semi-quantitative determination of specific IgG antibodies to mumps virus in human serum or plasma samples. It is intended to be used as an aid in the determination of serological status to mumps virus.
LIAISON® Mumps IgM
LIAISON® Mumps IgM is a CLIA assay for the qualitative determination of specific IgM antibodies to mumps virus in human serum or plasma samples.
Background
Serological testing for Mumps IgG and IgM antibodies is recommended for patients suspected of suffering from a mumps infection. Symptoms include the hallmark presentation of parotitis, but also orchitis or signs of involvement of the central nervous system.
The determination of IgG antibodies is recommended in specific population groups without documented history of immunization or infection. It is also for patients with inflammatory bowel disease being considered for vaccination, and healthcare workers.
