Mad for Science
From a passion for science to a passion for life
About the project
“Mad for Science” was created to promote active and experimental science education. A unique opportunity for students to approach the world of research, improve their design skills, test themselves and work in teams, just like scientists do.
With a prize pool of €200,000, the competition also represents a concrete opportunity for schools to transform their laboratories into cutting-edge bio-labs.

Scientific high schools, traditional high schools and technical institutes.
The "Mad for Science” project, conceived in 2016 by the Group, has been central to the work of the Fondazione Diasorin since 2020.
Every year, state Italian schools, all of which are considered equal, are invited to propose an innovative and original project starting from a specific theme, presented during the webinar to launch the challenge.
The institutions involved are scientific high schools, traditional high schools with a biomedical slant and technical institutes.
The chance to win a bio-laboratory for your school is up for grabs.
“Mad for Science” is recognized by the Ministry of Education as an initiative to enhance the excellence of secondary schools.
“Now more than ever, we are committed to supporting the younger generations to look at the world with an inquisitive mind and an attentive, critical and conscious approach, to discover the beauty of the scientific experience and to grasp the value of science in our lives.”
